Dear Members,

Following the introduction of the COVID-19 Risk Tiering by the government at the beginning of this week, and the changes made yesterday, we have taken advice on how to proceed.

The Club is now faced with an unprecedented situation where it will need some members to follow different rules from others with effect from midnight tonight. The relevant regulation states: "If you live in a high alert level area you also cannot meet indoors with people outside of the area".

Whilst this is against the ethos of our club, the consequences of not following the new COVID requirements are severe - penalties up to £10,000 and potential closure of the Clubhouse. Members also need to be aware that there is a local inspection regime, operated by local council enforcement officers. Therefore, the Board requests that all members adhere to the following:

1. Members whose Home Post Code is in Tier 2 (High) - this currently applies to the London Boroughs and all the areas administered by Essex County Council:-

• Adhere to all the existing COVID Secure measures adopted by the Club.

In addition:

o Members are only able to enjoy catering or bar service with up to six other people who are not in their household on the patio.
o If eating or drinking, each member must "Check In" individually to the NHS COVID app using the Q Code (located on each table)
o When indoors, Members are unable to sit with anyone outside of their household.
o Whilst indoors, Members should avoid mingling with anyone outside of their household.

2. Members whose Home Post Code is in Tier 1 (Medium) - this currently applies to Hertfordshire, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire.

o Adhere to all the existing COVID Secure measures adopted by the Club.

In addition:

o If eating or drinking, ensure that at least one person has "Checked In" to the NHS COVID app using the Q Code (located on each table).

Given the circumstances, it is vital that all members act in a responsible manner regardless of how they feel about the COVID regulations.

Please help us to Protect our members, Protect our staff and Protect your club.

Thank you for your continued understanding and collaboration.

Judy
