Scratch Team Section
Bishop's Stortford Golf Club has a thriving Scratch Team Section with a large number of players with handicaps below 5. The club takes part in two main competitions each year - the Herts Golf Union Scratch League and the Essex Golf Union Thornton Cup knockout competition. It also enters the Mail on Sunday, Hertfordshire Champion Club and County Foursomes Championship. The club has reached the quarter final stage of the Thornton Cup four times since 2001 and reached the final in 2005 for the first time in the club's history. The team has also won the HGU league division 6, 5, 4 and 3 titles over recent years including promotion from divison 3 in the 2008 season. The club will be competing in the county's second tier this year. Results from all matches and tournaments will be posted on the website as soon as they happen.
